Do you wear contacts? Are you wondering what can be done about the growing pile of waste caused by blister packs and contact lenses? Look no further! Red Eye is happy to announce our partnership with Baush + Lomb's ONE by ONE recycling program. Stop by our office and drop of your empty blister packs and used contact lenses today! We can collect the material curbside, just give our office a call when you're outside.
Due to the size of contact lenses and their packaging, these materials get filtered out at recycling facilities and directed to the waste stream, contributing to landfills across the United States. The Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program allows used contact lenses and packaging to be recycled properly, with the goal of reducing landfill waste associated with contact lenses. Once received, the contact lenses and blister packs are separated and cleaned. The metal layers of the blister packs are recycled separately, while the contact lenses and plastic blister pack components are melted into plastic that can be remolded to make recycled products. Bring us your recyclable material today!
