Do you wear contacts? Are you wondering what can be done about the growing pile of waste caused by blister packs and contact lenses? Look no further! Red Eye is happy to announce our partnership with Baush + Lomb's ONE by ONE recycling program. Stop by our office and drop of your empty blister packs and used contact lenses today! We can collect the material curbside, just give our office a call when you're outside.
Due to the size of contact lenses and their packaging, these materials get filtered out at recycling facilities and directed to the waste stream, contributing to landfills across the United States. The Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program allows used contact lenses and packaging to be recycled properly, with the goal of reducing landfill waste associated with contact lenses. Once received, the contact lenses and blister packs are separated and cleaned. The metal layers of the blister packs are recycled separately, while the contact lenses and plastic blister pack components are melted into plastic that can be remolded to make recycled products. Bring us your recyclable material today!
The doctors and staff at Red Eye Eyewear take your health very seriously and have always been very conscientious about preventing the spread of infection.
In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have further increased our sterilization practices in order to keep our patients and staff as healthy and safe as possible. All medical and office equipment is sterilized between uses. Additionally, we have added a new procedure for patients who are shopping for glasses. We will provide a tray for you to place any frames you try on. After you're done, simply return the tray to a staff member, who will disinfect every frame before returning them to the shelves. This ensures that every frame you try on has been completely sanitized for you.
We will continue to provide eye exams and remain open for business. That said, if you are feeling ill and need to postpone or reschedule your appointment, please do not hesitate to reach out to us; we do not charge a cancellation fee.
